Human-Data Interaction Through Design
How can I take part?
The main thing you need to do is fill out the application form.
The deadline to complete the application form is 08/03/2021 Anywhere on Earth (AOE) time.
To participate we invite you to submit a two-page position paper (there is also the option to attend without writing a full paper - keep reading). The paper should discuss an example (or speculation around) HDI. Suggested approaches include:
- Describe an example of employing a HDI approach in a research or innovation context;
- Explore why/how HDI could be useful (or how it may fail) in a given context;
- Use examples to offer critique or comment on the three tenets of HDI, exploring whether these are the right (or wrong) concepts to be concerned about, or what their strengths/limitations are.
If you would prefer to not write a ‘paper’ but would like to attend, that’s fine, but we ask that you use our application form to describe your interest around HDI’s current challenges and opportunities.
Once again, the main thing you need to do is fill out the application form.
As is usual with these things, in order to attend you will need to have registered for at least one day of the conference and as part of your conference registration you need to choose our workshop.
Paper format, Guidelines, and Questions
If you would like to submit a paper, please do so using the ACM master article templates. We would ask that papers are no longer than 2 pages (not including any references). We will review submissions among the workshop team and select submissions in order maintain a high quality and interesting balance of perspectives. If you have any queries then please do contact us
Remember, you can access the full proposal here.
