Podcast: Can AI be Ethical?

I appeared on the Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub’s Podcast, Living with AI recently, hosted by Sean Riley. It’s the (now) age-old intractable problem of, can ‘intelligent’ machines be ethical. Of course I believe that Design Research can offer a lot here, and used the example of our Trust me? I’m an autonomous machine project as an exemplar of that.

You can listen to the podcast here.

The following Twitter thread promoting the podcast highlighted one issue that I firmly identify with. What is AI anyway? The term is so widely thrown around, and as per discussions I have published elsewhere about the definitional dualism of AI, I really believe the way we use the term AI is problematic.
