Responsible AI Licences Generator

I’ve been privileged to be contributing to the Responsible AI Licenses (RAIL) initative for a while now, I and Jesse wrote this piece about it recently.

One challenge the project has is how to help people to adopt the licenses, how to make it easy to use them. With that in mind the concept of a RAIL licence generator was born. Jesse has been integral in this project, and I’m delighted to announce the RAIL licence generator is now live. This is mainly aimed at developers, and if you have an AI or Machine Learning project then consider using the generator to create a open license with customised use clauses to prevent harms.

Alongside, the RAIL team also have a new paper that explores the landscape of behavioural use clauses in AI-focused licenses more generally. The paper has been accepted at the ICML conference, and you can read a pre-print over here.
